Stainless Steel Piping Systems Expert

Peking University International Hospital

Peking University International Hospital is located in Peking University Medical City within Zhongguancun Life Science Park, Changping District, Beijing. It is a large general hospital integrating medical services, teaching, and research, with a total floor area of approximately 440,000 square meters and 1,800 approved beds. As a large public healthcare building, the hospital includes numerous water-use areas and a complex piping network, placing high requirements on the hygiene, durability, and long-term stability of the water supply piping system. The project uses Franta stainless steel piping systems. Project Background

Healthcare buildings are a type of public building with particularly high requirements for water supply systems. Hospitals operate continuously throughout the year and include inpatient areas, outpatient departments, medical technology departments, offices, and public service spaces. With numerous water outlets and frequent water use, these facilities place high requirements on the hygiene and stability of the water supply system.

Peking University International Hospital has a total floor area of approximately 440,000 square meters and 1,800 approved beds, making it a large-scale medical complex with extensive healthcare functions. For a major general hospital of this type, the piping system must not only meet the daily water needs of a large number of people, but also provide long-term service across different medical and public areas.

A large proportion of hospital piping is concealed within the building. Once the facility is in operation, large-scale repairs may affect normal medical services. The project therefore places greater emphasis on piping system durability, connection reliability, and convenient long-term maintenance during the construction stage.

Key Project Requirements and Challenges

Healthcare Buildings Require High Standards of Water Hygiene

Hospitals accommodate large numbers of people and experience frequent water use. Different medical and public areas all require stable water supply, making the hygiene and corrosion resistance of the piping material important considerations when selecting the system.

Large Building Scale and Complex Piping Networks

Large general hospitals include outpatient, inpatient, medical technology, and public service areas. With extensive piping coverage and numerous branches, the system requires strong overall coordination.

Hospitals Require Continuous Long-Term Operation

Healthcare buildings operate continuously over long periods, and piping failures may affect the normal operation of related areas. Pipe quality and long-term system stability are therefore important considerations.

Maintenance of Concealed Piping Can Have Significant Operational Impact

A large proportion of the piping is installed within walls, ceilings, pipe shafts, and equipment areas. Once the hospital is operational, organizing repairs can be difficult, making initial installation quality and long-term durability especially important.

Franta Solution

To meet the requirements of large hospitals for hygienic water distribution, long-term operation, and complex piping networks, the project uses Franta stainless steel piping systems to provide a reliable piping foundation for the healthcare building water supply system.

Stainless Steel Piping Helps Reduce the Risk of Pipeline Contamination

Stainless steel pipes have smooth internal surfaces and good corrosion resistance, helping reduce issues such as particles generated by long-term corrosion in conventional metal piping and making them better suited to the hygiene and long-term operating requirements of healthcare buildings.

Integrated System Configuration for Complex Piping Networks

For different floors, functional areas, and pipe sizes within the hospital, stainless steel pipes and matching fittings can be configured as a complete piping system to meet the requirements of complex water supply networks in large healthcare buildings.

Standardized Installation Improves Project Efficiency

Standardized pipes and matching connection products help reduce complex on-site installation procedures and improve installation consistency, making the system better suited to the multi-trade construction environment of hospital projects.

Full-Process Project Service Support

Franta can provide support covering product supply, technical coordination, on-site installation support, and subsequent services, helping ensure the successful implementation of stainless steel piping systems in healthcare buildings.

Project Value

Hygienic Water Distribution

Stainless steel pipes feature smooth internal surfaces and good corrosion resistance, making them well suited to the water hygiene requirements of hospital buildings.

Stable Long-Term Operation

A durable and reliable piping system can support the long-term, high-frequency water use and continuous operating requirements of a large general hospital.

Integrated System Configuration

Pipes, fittings, and related products can be configured as an integrated system, helping accommodate the multiple floors, functional areas, and complex piping networks found in hospital projects.

Reduced Operation and Maintenance Pressure

A reliable piping system helps reduce the impact of future failures and repairs in concealed piping, supporting the hospital's long-term operation.

Project Service Support

From product supply and technical coordination to installation support and after-sales service, Franta provides ongoing support for large public healthcare building projects.
