German DVGW Certification — Authoritative Recognition of Franta's High-Quality Standards
Quality has never been just a slogan in Franta's development. It is the result of continuous investment, rigorous manufacturing, and long-term commitment. German DVGW certification is widely recognized in the European and international gas and water industries. Today, it has become an important quality credential for Franta products and authoritative recognition of Franta's consistent commitment to high-quality stainless steel piping systems.
DVGW, the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water, was founded in 1859 and is a leading technical and standardization organization in Germany's gas and water industries. Its certification requirements for products in contact with drinking water include strict hygiene and safety testing.
For Franta, obtaining DVGW certification represents authoritative recognition of our long-standing commitment to high-quality standards. It also reinforces a principle Franta has consistently followed: whether products are exported overseas or supplied to the domestic market, the same high-quality standards are applied, helping households in China and users worldwide benefit from reliable water supply solutions.
Behind the High Certification Threshold Is Genuine Value
Obtaining DVGW certification is far from easy. It is a rigorous quality assessment involving significant investment, demanding requirements, and a long certification cycle:
In terms of certification costs, testing fees, audit fees, and annual maintenance costs all represent substantial investment for manufacturers.
In terms of audit requirements, DVGW evaluates not only product performance but also conducts on-site audits of manufacturing facilities to assess the operation of the quality management system. The certificate is valid for five years. During the certification period, companies are required to undergo annual DVGW surveillance audits to verify the continued operation of their quality management systems. Annual certificate fees must also be paid, and at least one representative product must be selected each year for full testing at an accredited laboratory to ensure continued compliance with applicable requirements. In addition, a comprehensive factory re-audit is conducted every two years.
The high threshold is precisely what gives DVGW certification its value. Its rigorous and impartial certification process is one of the reasons it is widely recognized internationally. Achieving this certification demonstrates that Franta products comply with relevant German requirements and that the company's quality control system meets internationally recognized standards.

Dual Certification: International Standards and Domestic Approval
As Franta continues to expand steadily in international markets, we have also considered an important question: if DVGW certification is recognized internationally, why not help domestic users better understand the value behind this certification?
For this reason, we have chosen to communicate the significance of DVGW certification to users in China, helping more people understand that Franta products are not only exported internationally but are also manufactured to internationally recognized standards for the domestic market.
More importantly, Franta has also obtained China's hygiene permit approval for domestically manufactured products involving drinking water hygiene and safety. Issued by the relevant health authorities, this approval requires strict procedures including documentation review, on-site inspection, and expert evaluation, providing authoritative recognition of product hygiene and safety.
Franta is one of the few stainless steel pipe and fitting manufacturers in China to hold both German DVGW certification and China's hygiene permit approval for domestically manufactured products involving drinking water hygiene and safety.
Together, these two certifications represent both internationally recognized standards and domestic market compliance, creating an additional layer of quality assurance for Franta stainless steel piping products.

Behind the Dual Certifications: Franta High-Quality Stainless Steel Piping Systems
Water is the lifeline of cities and an essential resource for human survival. China's per-capita freshwater resources are only about one-quarter of the global average, while more than 400 cities have experienced long-term water shortages. At the same time, leakage and secondary contamination in aging water supply networks remain significant challenges, and some conventional piping materials are difficult to degrade, creating additional environmental pressure. In response to the dual challenges of water scarcity and drinking water safety, China has introduced a series of policies and regulations to accelerate the adoption of stainless steel piping in water supply applications and improve access to high-quality drinking water.
Guided by its corporate vision of “developing piping systems for healthy drinking water,” Franta manufactures food-grade thin-wall stainless steel piping products to rigorous quality standards. Supporting the stable operation of these stainless steel piping systems is a comprehensive quality assurance framework. Franta selects 316L medical-grade austenitic stainless steel to establish a strong foundation for corrosion resistance from the raw material stage; adopts advanced laser welding technology, which compared with TIG tungsten inert gas welding offers faster welding speeds, higher efficiency, a narrower heat-affected zone, reduced deformation, a higher weld depth-to-width ratio, greater precision, and the ability to support automated and remote welding; applies secondary bright solution heat treatment to significantly improve resistance to intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion while optimizing mechanical and processing properties, thereby improving fitting manufacturing accuracy and supporting reliable installation and long service life; uses comprehensive pickling and passivation treatment consisting of nine processes to rebuild a dense oxide layer, improve corrosion resistance, and enhance hygiene and cleanliness; combines this with high-frequency ultrasonic precision cleaning, using the cavitation effect to generate microbubbles and shock waves that penetrate pores and crevices to thoroughly remove contaminants and ensure a highly clean internal surface; and conducts 100% eddy current testing and airtightness leakage testing before products leave the factory. Franta also maintains third-party product liability insurance, establishing strict quality control from internal defect detection to overall sealing performance.

Why Pursue Certification When Products Can Be Sold Without It?
Some may ask: certain certifications are not mandatory for selling products in the domestic market, so why invest so much time, effort, and resources in obtaining them?
Franta's answer is simple: what we aim to deliver is not merely a product that meets standards, but long-term confidence in drinking water health and safety.
German DVGW certification and China's hygiene permit approval for products involving drinking water are two important milestones in Franta's quality journey, but they are by no means the destination. From raw materials to final delivery, and from technical systems to service implementation, Franta remains committed to one principle: earn authoritative recognition through rigorous manufacturing processes and serve Chinese households with internationally recognized quality standards.
We believe genuine water safety is defined not by what is promoted, but by what is consistently achieved. German DVGW certification and China's drinking water hygiene permit approval are strong evidence of Franta's continued commitment to quality.
